Zakspatrol is a newcomer to the Waikouaiti stable of Amber Hoffman after being claimed for $4000 by Heather Williams.

Zakspatrol (R70) finished fourth in his most recent race at Alexandra Park on May 5. The 6-year-old Art Major gelding had his most recent win at Cambridge in March when trained by Arna Donnelly. Zakspatrol won eight races in his initial racing from the Burnham stable of Mark Jones with his first win at  Methven in March 2014. He later won two races for Kumeu trainer Danny Blakemore.

“Heather got him for the claiming races at Forbury Park,’’ said  Lex Williams, her husband.

Heather and Lex Williams, of Waimate, have Landora’s Lassie, a 3-year-old sister to One Muscle Hill (Muscle Hill – Landora’s Pearl) in the Hoffman stable. One Muscle Hill, winner of the $68,250 New Zealand Yearling Sales Trot Final for 2-year-olds at Addington last Friday, was bred by the Williams and sold through the PGG Wrightson premier yearling sale for $57,500 to Gordon Banks and Marc Hanover, of Miami.

One Over Da Moon, raced by the Williams, won the Cranbourne Trotters Cup last Saturday. One Over Da Moon is in another group three race, the Coulter Crown, at Melton on Saturday night.

The Williams have One Over Da Skye, a sister to One Over Da Moon (Majestic Son – One Over Kenny), in the $60,000  New Zealand Sires’ Stakes Championship for 2-year-old trotters at Addington on Friday night.

“She (One Over Da Skye) is 13th on the Harness Jewels list and we are hoping she can qualify,’’ said Lex.

Northview Major (four wins) and Uralla Sue (a winner) are other additions to the Hoffman stable.

Pyramid Mustang, a winner from the Phil Williamson stable, is now trained by Geoff and Jude Knight at Roxburgh. He has been entered for the Oamaru meeting on Sunday.

Changeover has been relocated to the Burwood Stud in Queensland after being bought by Chris Garrard. Changeover has been in service at Nevele R Stud, Prebbleton. Changeover, winner of the 2008 New Zealand Cup in 3.56.4 for the 3200m, is the sire of Nuala (Dainty’s Daughter Classic), Sudden Change (Tasmanian Oaks) and Mister Lennox (Tasmanian Derby). Patronage for him declined from 225 mares in 2010 to 23 last season.

Tintin In America, who was on the stallion roster at Nevele R last season, is now at the Yirribee Stud in New South Wales.
