One Over Da Moon’s progeny shine

by bevangreigs

In what has been a tough year for Lex Williams, the progeny of his stallion One Over Da Moon, are giving him plenty of cause to smile lately.

Lex and his late wife Heather, bred One Over Da Moon out of their sensational race-mare One Over Kenny.  The mare was bred to Majestic Son, the resulting foal, One Over Da Moon proving to also be a very good racehorse, winning 5 Group races.

With an eye to the future, and in a bold move, Lex and Heather then bred two of their own mares to One Over Da Moon in 2015 as experiment in between his racing duties, before he headed to Australia for another campaign.

The proof of that “experiment” has certainly been proven by the deeds of the two foals produced – the 5yo’s One Apollo (9 wins to date including three Group 3 races)and Da Moon’s Mission(2 wins to date).

It would be two more years before One Over Da Moon was back in the stallion barn, and that small crop of 3yo’s has already produced the winners Light of Da Moon and now Samanthas Moon.  His sire stats make great reading, with just five to race to date for four winners!

With reports of some other nice 3yo’s around the country showing plenty of ability, it would seem that more winners are just around the corner for One Over Da Moon.

Rightfully very proud of the stallion they bred, raced and now stand as a sire, Lex and Heather have proven to be extremely astute breeders.
Wai Eyre Farm is delighted to be part of their vision to see One Over Da Moon stand successfully at stud.
